What we aim to solve

There is a paucity of affordable artistic services offered to Adults w/Intellectual Disabilities (ID) in our region. Hope Center for the Arts (Promise) addresses the high demand from the community of low income adults w/ID in Orangish Canton and Los Angeles for opportunities in the arts. Hope provides artistic, vocational, therapeutic and life skills to the ofttimes over looked & marginalized Visual and Performing Artists w/ID. ID diagnoses at Promise include (simply not express to) Down's syndrome, Autism, Williams Syndrome and Delicate Ten Syndrome. The critical lack of affordable, quality, artistic services offered to adult'southward w/ID is evidenced by HOPE'southward consistent inquiries & requests for services from local Adult Transition Programs, Regional Centers & by the Artists (participants) currently attention.

Life Enrichment

The bookish classes we offering are; Current Events, Computer, Fettle, Poesy, American Sign Language, Book Social club, and Sports. Our ultimate goal for the artist who participate in the classes will be able to take what they acquire in the classroom to encourage the development of independence and everyday living skills.

HOPE strives to meet the individual learning needs of each artists and foster the unique abilities based on the individual's skills and interests despite their limitations, disability or diagnosis. Promise offers a plethora of Performing Arts programs including, but not limited to: music ensembles, dance, theatre arts, and video production.

Therapy Services at Hope Center for the Arts are provided by accredited professionals who have completed an approved therapy program. The department supports our artists by providing a therapeutic relationship for growth. Using a holistic arroyo, we work in conjunction with each section at Promise.

Hope Centre for the Arts offers a
dynamic combination of studio instruction, socially engaged public art
projects, exhibition opportunities, and fine craft product for our in house
boutique, Promise Handmade.  The Visual Arts
Program seeks to serve the whole person, transforming the lives of adults with
intellectual disabilities through the arts, building self-esteem, fine and
gross motor skills, cultivating community integration and social skills as well
equally edifice job and vocational skills.

Promise provides a means for its artists to be seen equally viable & valued artists, whose work deserves the same recognition & validation of any creative person.

Participants are trained to be professional artists who earn income through music functioning and art. Hope helps promote the sale of participant artwork & mitt-crafted items through media & Hope's online presence, where they then receive a portion of the proceeds.
Promise recognizes that we offer a not-traditional approach to employment opportunities than the standard diversity of workforce options of Regional Centers & the Community at big typically offers ID adults.

Hope has strategically worked & volition continue to nurture & build new relationships west/artistically minded partners in the customs to offer more opportunities to share HOPE art. In doing so our Artists/Performers have & will continue to return hope to others touched past disability while bringing together those with & due west/out disabilities.

Persons w/intellectual disabilities have distinct social, personal, behavioral, & developmental needs. Our unique arroyo utilizes the Arts as a tool for meeting these needs. This along w/onsite Vocational & Therapeutic Services allows each of HOPE'due south participants to receive an individualized, unique, holistic & supportive learning environs.

Promise's exceptional arroyo focuses on private exploration & evolution; social interaction, collaboration; personal & vocational growth; proper diet & fettle; customs integration for all participants through the lens of the Arts. All at depression to no-price while providing economic opportunities for its participants by training them in Best Art Practices. And all while opening the communities optics to the abilities and talents of these Artists.

Promise continues to cultivate quality experiences, income opportunities and artistic partnerships past:
ane. Presenting at least two public art exhibitions in the community each year, including ane juried fine art exhibition open to all US artists with disabilities.
2. Showcasing the talents of participants & edifice their reputations as visual artists by having Hope artwork featured in at least five outside fine art exhibitions each yr
3. Develop personalized goals for each customer that will all-time facilitate his/her personal growth and have at least fourscore% of clients meet ane or more than of their goals each year.

Hope has served over 600 Artists & leads the industry in its offerings that have expanded to include all art forms. We've served hundreds of adults w/intellectual disabilities who've realized their artistic dreams .

We will continue with developing dynamic and empowering Artistic programming to provide our population and the community exposure to the talents and abilities of Hope Artists and Performers.
